Facts of Crime:
During the evening hours of March 24, 2001, Francisco Pinedo went to a residence in
Bakersfield to look for his friend. Mr. Pinedo parked his vehicle in the driveway where there were
several subjects, including Armando Hernandez Leon, in the open garage. Mr. Pinedo asked one of the
subjects to check if a mutual friend was in the residence. Leon approached the vehicle and shot Mr.
Pinedo multiple times killing him. Leon fled the area on foot and is believed to have gone to Mexico.
