From my sanantonio.com:
After more than a year and a half, the Gutierrez family still doesn't know who was responsible for the death of Henry Gutierrez Jr.
But they are hoping increasing the reward for information to $75,000 will lead to an arrest.
The 71-year-old Schertz businessman was shot dead at his home in the 2200 block of FM 3009 on Christmas Eve 2015.
In an effort to get closure, the family on Wednesday made a plea to the public for any information that leads to an arrest.
Family members found Gutierrez' body around 10 a.m. His Ford Explorer was stolen from the home and found in March 2016 at an apartment complex in San Marcos, but the discovery didn't lead to a suspect.
Gutierrez and his family owned and operated Bexar Waste, a garbage collection service. His family recently sold the business, citing the unsolved homicide.
"I've been in the position that I'm at since my father was murdered on Christmas Eve 2015. Since then, I've taken it on as my responsibility to continue running the business to the best of my ability. As you can imagine, it has been awfully difficult without him," Miguel Gutierrez told the Schertz city council in June.
Anyone with information can receive the reward by submitting a tip to the Guadalupe County Crime Stoppers at 877-403-8477. You can also submit a tip online at gccsTIPS.org.

Thouguts? This appears to be a pretty baffling case since articles say Gutierrez was known as a charitable businessmen who was very well liked and admired in his community. Was this simply a robbery gone awry or a random act of violence? Could Gutierrez's garbage collection company for some reason have anything to do with his murder? Unfortunately we won't know any answers until hopefully someone who knows something does the right thing and comes forward.
