Authorities in Pennsylvania are trying to identify the remains of a young woman who was discovered over 15 years ago. AMW aired the case in 2001 and 2002.
On Jul 11, 1995, a maroon coloured suitcase was found inside a garbage bag in Downington, Pennsylvania. Inside the suitcase was the torso of a young woman covered in a quilt bag. The suitcase at the time was sold at Kmart stores. On Jan 29, 1996, partially skeleton legs were found wrapped in trash bags near Bensalem, Pennsylvania. Also at the second location was a bag full of ladies and girls clothing. The legs fit perfectly when put inside the torso. There was bruising on her eye and back but no signs of strangulation or rape. According to Google Maps, Downington and Bensalem are almost an hours drive distance away from each other.
Fingerprints, dentals and DNA were entered into databases with no match. Investigators believe that the woman may not have been from the United States. She's believed to have been 17-30 years of age, 4'11-5'3, 120-140 lbs, had one of two drinks worth of alcohol in her system but no drugs had been recently used. She was either white or hispanic.
Thoughts? My personal opinion on this murder was that she was killed by her boyfriend or husband, based on the bruising but no signs of strangulation or rape. I also believe that she was an immigrant, probably from Latin America.
