According to Newslibrary archives, in early January 2003, Juan Arenas was driving in Sheboygan, Wisconsin when a 12-year old boy ran into open traffic. Juan struck and killed the boy with his vehicle. Juan then fled the scene of the accident but was soon arrested afterwards. His bail was originally set for $50,000, but was reduced to $20,000. He posted that and is believed to fled to Mexico.

Thoughts? I found Juan Arenas on the archived page for the Sheboygan Police Department but was able to confirm through the Wisconsin Court Records page that his case status still shows as "bench warrant issued in 2003". It should be noted that Juan is only charged with hit-and-run which could have been avoided if he had simply stayed at the accident scene. He probably fled the scene because according to Newslibrary he was illegally in the US.
