Humberto Fortanelli is wanted for escaping from prison. He was aired on AMW four times from 2008 to 2011.
Humberto was being held in the Dallas County, Arkansas jail for shooting at a police officer. While there, he met fellow inmate Shannon Ray who was in prison for aggravated robbery. Shannon had a plan to break out of jail by using dental floss to cut through the steel bars in their cell. Once they broke the bars, Shannon used a smuggled lighter to burn down the bulletproof window. It took five days for the two to cut through the other part of the window.
On Dec 31, 2007, Humberto and Shannon snapped the window free and crawled out of their cell. The two scaled two wired fences, Shannon seriously cutting himself in the escape and fled when they got to an awaiting vehicle. The two escapees then split up, Shannon was arrested a few days later in Tennessee. Shannon was then sentenced to life imprisonment and put in a new cell with no windows. The jail he was held in, also no longer gave dental floss to their inmates. Humberto Fortanelli is still on the run and his step-mother believed her husband picked Humberto up after the escape. Humberto's mother lived in Veracruz, Mexico and he may have fled there.
Thoughts? I feel Humberto probably fled to Mexico to be with his parents. Considering he was in prison for the attempted murder of a police officer, I doubt he's likely to travel back into the United States.
