(Above photo credit: amw.com archives) Authorities have spent the last decade trying to identify the killer of Angelo Ravella. AMW aired the case once in 2005. On March 27, 2003, Angelo Ravella, his brother and some friends went to celebrate aceing a college exam at a bar in Castro Valley, California. Angelo's brother, Benny went out of the bar at one point and saw a man and a woman arguing. Angelo stepped in front of the man and Benny to break up an argument that had started. The man said to Angelo "East 7th" and Angelo walked away, the man and the woman also left. A few hours later, Angelo and a friend were driving in San Lorenzo when a 1980s Cadillac pulled up to them, and a man in the Cadillac opened fire on the two, killing Angelo. This man has never been identified. Thoughts? It was believed that the "East 7th" comment was a gang challenge, although Angelo was not a gang member. The shooter was believed to be a hispanic male, 18-25 years old, according to the archived amw.com page. In my opinion, the killer could still be in Northern California, could be in jail for another crime or possibly even have fled to Mexico to join a drug trafficking organization, even though there's no warrant for his arrest. I'm going to be completely honest here. Other than the perpetrator bragging, or someone snitching, there is very little to work with.
It doesn't mean you don't try but all we have is a fair sketch and a random thug who might not even be in the area anymore. I will be impressed (but elated) if they solve this case.
