Photo Credits: Chicago Tribune Fugitives From Justice -- In 1991, India born Lakshman Adusumilli was a University of Illinois medical student and living with his parents in Orland Park, Illinois. He was charged and accused of stabbing the mother of his child with a knife and beating her with a hammer. She survived her injuries. Relatives paid his $50,000 bond and even though he surrendered his passport, he somehow managed to make his way to Canada, followed by India. In 2011, the Orland Park Police Chief emailed the Chicago Tribune as part of their Fugitives from Justice series that this was still an active manhunt. However a federal arrest warrant was dismissed in 2007 because the Cook County Attorney General's office was not actively involved in the manhunt. Lakshman is still at large to this day. Based on alleged crime location, it is advised to contact the Orland Park Police Department at 708-349-4111 if you have any information on Lakshman Adusumilli's whereabouts. Also any news-related updates on this case or vital statistics (age, height, weight, etc) can be forwarded to us at amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form --Thoughts? Finding fugitives in India is very difficult, and without an active federal arrest warrant, we can only hope Lakshman returns to the US and gets arrested at customs. I haven't seen any coverage after the Chicago Tribune's series in 2011 so it looks like this manhunt is stalled. I also didn't see any old media coverage back in the 1990s through Newslibrary. www.chicagotribune.com/news/watchdog/ct-met-adusumilli-fugitives-profiles-20111030-story.html

Haven't found anything new since that 2011 Chicago Tribune article although because of that I'm assuming that Lakshman Adusumilli is still at large as of this update. (7/9/2018). Of course, as always, if anyone has any updates/proof-of-updates one way or the other, they can always feel free to let us know.
