The case was featured as a part of a drug roll call in the November 8, 1989 episode of UM, along with Douglas Alan Costa, Lavada Floyd, and Richard Green. Wanted For: Drug Trafficking, Posession Missing Since: December 4, 1983 Details: Agents found $1 million worth of cocaine in the home of Lewis Michael Geiger in Cardiff by the Sea, California. He was released on bail but vanished on December 4, 1983. His boat was found abandoned four miles off the shore of Huntington Beach, California, with his wallet and spatters of human blood on board. His car and boat trailer were found near the Huntington Beach dock. U.S. Marshals believe that he faked his own death, as he was due in court the very next day. Results: Wanted. In 1992, Geiger's wife Birgit and brother Gerald petitioned to have the court declare him legally dead. The court, however, did not declare him dead and believed that there was enough evidence to indicate that he was still alive. Thoughts? Feel he may likely be dead by now even if he didn't fake his death. EDIT: As of July 29th, 2018, Geiger is still wanted according to Unsolved wiki. Although a fan databse, it does a very good job, so readers are encouraged to continually check with that page as to Geiger's wanted status: unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Lewis_Michael_Geiger

It's quite possible Lewis is still at large, although getting a local warrant/court database out of many California communities is a challenge.
Thanks for finding the case though Web Detective! At least there's a very detailed directory of Unsolved Mysteries fugitives, unlike with AMW where this is the only site we could call a "database" currently.

I'm personally shocked there hasn't been a AMW wiki as of late. Although you can say UM in some ways more popular, AMW was no small fry especially in the true crime genre.
