What I find incredible is that according to the mlive.com article two persons of interest were identified yet Darrel's case is still apparently unsolved as of this posting date. (8/13/2018). This suggests to me perhaps police know more than they're letting on, but unfortunately do not have enough evidence to charge anyone. Also, I see Darel's name spelled differently in different places. I put "Darrel" instead of Darrell since I found what I think is a family-run "Justice for Darrel Volway" Facebook page, yet the Michigan State Police website and some online articles spell his name with two l's. What's most important is catching his killer or killers, but if anyone can confirm the correct spelling so this page can be professionally accurate it would be appreciated. Hello, thanks so much for confirming!
Also, I saw your messages so first welcome to our site.
First of all, I'm so sorry for your loss and can't imagine how difficult it must be waiting for answers.
To explain this site, it started as an unofficial fan site for America's Most Wanted but once that show got cancelled turned into an overall crime themed/part crime-sleuthing forum (sort of like websleuths if you know that site) where besides discussing cases on that show, members here post fugitive, missing, and/or unsolved crime cases we find on the internet that we find interesting for discussion or think will be interesting for discussion. (John Walsh eventually returned to tv so we still now also discuss his post-AMW shows).
Daarel's story stood out to me because although the articles don't give the most detail, they mention having suspects and I felt his case was solvable if given enough publicity. We don't have the reach of a tv show but I figure any publicity is good.
Although only an unofficial fan site for John Walsh's shows, I can at least give advice etc... if you need it and hope one day a suspect or suspects will be arrested.

To the friends and family of Darrel's, I saw the article from a month ago about the reward for information by Crime Stoppers of Flint being increased from $500 to $3,000 so I thought I'd help you guys further the publicity and I have made the search for Darrel's killer or killers our forum case of the week (front page feature) for this week (September 20th-27th, 2020).
