If it were a female pick, I’d say Nina Turner would be the most appropriate pick.

I thought you said TINA Turner for a second and I was like what's love got to do with it? Lol.
In all seriousness, not a bad choice liberal from a swing state. I know you won't like hearing this as she's more centrist but Amy Klobuchar also makes sense as a somewhat popular Democrat in a key geographic target (the midwest).

And now our moron President wants to open the country back by Easter despite no signs of the virus slowing down except for practices like social distancing actually working a bit in New York. He has proved he cares more about the economy than saving lives. This is why you may have noticed a change in my tone lately. I had previously subscribed to the Michelle Obama "when they go low, we go high" philosophy but any moron that still supports this President needs to be called out. I'm tired of playing nice and taking the high road when the other side doesn't. There is no both sides anymore. There's Trump's side and the truth. Trump does not know more than Generals and he does not know more than doctors either. F*** anyone who still supports this a-hole. The DNC needs to go for the jugular here and stop taking the high road.

One thing I am curious about, is will we see a second renaissance after the coronavirus like after the plague back in the Middle Ages in Eurasia?
It seems everyone will have to rethink their healthcare system, and who they elect. First and foremost, a government should take care of you, not corporations or the stock market.

Who knows. The first thing is to make sure we survive this having the equivalent to the Mayor in Jaws as our President.

Aren’t these the same people that say “pull yourself by your own boot straps boy” I’ve had to give myself my own haircut, I don’t get why they can’t do their own haircut.... if I had something to say to them it would be.....pull yourselves up by your own boot straps.

What these people really are are just participants in another MAGA rally- who years ago called liberals snowflakes for daring to protest we elected a racist President who admitted to grabbing women by their you know what when he thought a camera wasn't on him and told everyone to "get over it"- that now can't handle not getting a haircut and are inspired by Trump's initial rhetoric calling the virus a hoax. Admittedly even I was kinda skeptical at first but it has now been proven COVID-19 is no joke. Take a look at Georgia- who reopened before guidelines recommended and has seen an explosion in new cases. It should come as no surprise their Governor is a Trumpanzee who apparently didn't even know you could carry the virus and not know it a full month after that was reported in the "fake news". It should also come as no surprise that this protest is happening in a swing state with a Democratic Governor. Color me suspicious, but I find it a little too coincidental this is happening to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer right after her profile was starting to become bigger and being talked about as a potential Vice Presidential candidate for Joe Biden. Some other states have had protests too, but "coincidentally" her state has the biggest ones.

Haven't watched it yes but Obama addressed the nation earlier in the day, making me long for the days when Presidents could make complete sentences.
Also, that tear-gassing protestors so Trump can take a photo-op with a bible in front of a church- he looked so weird but it was also so scary I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. You know it's bad when even PAT ROBERTSON- Pat frigging Robertson of all people criticized the publicity stunt.

It is still over four months before election day 2020, but I wanted to reference that the polls are not going well for Trump thankfully at all right now. I have the US Election Atlas poll tracker as proof. Traditionally Republican states like Arizona, Texas and Georgia are now in the "toss-up" classification. I'll post the link below, just keep in mind the website uses inverted colours due to something with the 1996 election I believe. uselectionatlas.org/POLLS/PRESIDENT/2020/polls.php

Well I was staying away from this thread but obviously the latest plot twist in this crazy year that is 2020- that Trump has tested positive for Covid-19 is too big to ignore.
I'm not going to be a jerk and wish for him to die, but I don't have to feel sorry for him that he got it either. During this entire pandemic, he has called coronavirus a hoax and eschewed mask wearing. I hope now he'll be taking it a lot more seriously than he has in the past.
So just using this opportunity to once again say for goodness sake people, please stop being selfish and wear a damn mask.

This goes especially for the 20-40 year old age bracket whom some of them think they are invincible. I am in that age bracket, along with a large number of the active members on this site I think.

I look like I was born in '005, but instead of feeling invincible, I just want to slug all the internet's coronavirus denialists over the forehead. I'm also frustrated with downplayers who blame it all on everyone outside the Intellectual Dark Web for shutting down cities' economies for a pandemic these downplayers think is no big deal. I question whether there's a way to impress on them that "just get the people back to work already!" won't work as a solution to unemployment and the national economic implosion.

As a person who was basically “an essential employee” during this pandemic, a face mask is really helpful and everyone who says “freedom and democracy is being threatened by the use of a face mask is full of it..... I think Trump for making fun of Joe Biden over wearing a face mask, not taking the coronavirus pandemic seriously, and most importantly not making a big deal of the 200,000+ dead, is going to have a lot of karma coming to him. Trump testing positive for COVID-19 is something he has no one else to blame but himself.
