Naji Hamad, who worked as a store-clerk in Palm Beach County, Florida, is wanted for the 1992 death of one of his customers.
According to the free text version of newspapers.com archives, Hamad worked as a clerk at the Pahokee food store in Pahokee, Florida. He had been "horseplaying" around with a customer, 30-year old Larry D. Bowles. According to the 1992 report, Bowles had shown Hamad a large steak knife. Hamad responded by taking out a .45 semiautomatic pistol, pointed it, and fired it at Bowles. Unfortunately, the gun was apparently not on safety, as a bullet struck Bowles' chest, killing him.
Hamad apparently went on the run soon afterwards since a search of Florida's public access wanted persons website shows him as having a warrant for "Bail- Secured Bond" from March 23rd, 1992. He is also listed on the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office's most wanted archives, so he is seemingly still at large as of this posting date (September 29th, 1992).
Oddly, a local news segment from last year has him as having been wanted since August 4th, 2017, but I am assuming they mistakenly confused the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office's last update (where they listed him as wanted AS OF 8/4/2017) as the wanted date.

Thoughts? Let me first off state that Hamad is a coward for fleeing. I'm not making excuses for him, but based on the alleged account, it seems like a completely reckless but not intentional shooting, so it is theoretically possible a judge may have had some leniency for him had he just manned up, admitted what he allegedly done, and tried to make a plea deal. Instead, Hamad does not want to take any responsibility at all for his alleged careless that cost someone their life, even after 25 years.
His place of birth is listed as Brazil, and it is unfortunately very difficult to get native fugitives there extradited back to the U.S. Perhaps this is why he fled (why take any responsibility and even do a day in prison when I can just flee to Brazil and be free the rest of my life). Regardless, he should still answer for Larry Bowles' loved ones' sake.
Admin Note #1: According to a recent local news segment, Anyone with information on Hamad's whereabouts is asked to contact the PBSO (Palm Beach Sheriff's Office) Warrant Unit at 561-688-3930.
