In Pursuit still among top 20 shows Wednesday night. To be honest I was hesitant to post the ratings at all because I didn't want to jinx it lol. (This is why I briefly mentioned it here rather than making a separate thread ). I think the ID channel is committed to the mission and it is less about ratings anyway. But if the show does well for their advertising it is an added bonus.

P.S. I like Joe Kenda too on the off-chance he reads this and goes "my my my am I chopped liver?" This whole talk about ratings reminds me: The divide bebetween public and corporate is out of whack. Fugitive hunting shows, graded and paid by the books like a scripted series, sometimes have to go out of their way to win a quest for ratings, which can cut into its effectiveness. I wish America had a public TV sector where a show like AMW or In Pursuit could optimize their capture rate and general usefulness without the burden of a ratings competition. (These ratings make it seem more like an arcade game championship than a properly balanced industry).

I agree but you quoted my Kenda joke instead of my comment on ratings, come on 912th, I realize this is a crime forum and I'm the admin of a crime forum but every time I try to make a joke on here to lighten the mood you step on my punchlines lol. But seriously, yeah a show like AMW on like a PBS-type channel where ratings at least in theory are not important would be a good idea. Justice Network is sort of along the lines of that concept, but not everyone gets or uses that digital antenna thing.

Meanwhile, why can't more hosts get more fugitive hunting shows on less ratings-reliant networks, besides the burden of installing a digital antenna or paying for premium services a la carte?

The thing is the 90's there were a few AMW knock-offs but they never worked. (One problem was I forgot which show but it was a 1-900-number where YOU had to pay as opposed to it being toll free). John Walsh has established credibility. Why a similar show has never caught on is beyond me, but I think finding the right host has a lot to do with it.

I tried using the ID Go app, but it turned out they only let you watch the debut episode unless you buy a subscription that covers your smart phone. I have a friend whose TV recording system I can use, and he's my only hope now.

That sucks, I'm able to watch but I'm using my parents cable subscription.
It still costs money but there are online streaming subscription options like sling TV, direct TV now etc.. that are like sometime like 25-35 dollars a month that carry ID and have a DVR
The cheapest option is Philo tv which is 16 dollars a month. If you only use it for the three-four In Pursuit months its like 48-64 dollars.
I know 48-64 dollars is still not cheap but that's all I can think of right now. I'll look more into this.

Meant to say 12 episodes this season not 12 episodes each. But yeah those are some ideas. 36 dollars may seem like not a lot to some but it is to others so I'm not going to be a snob about that, but at least I found comparatively speaking some generally affordable options but I understand a show this important should be free. (Not dissing the ID channel or anyone else, just hoping they can come up with a solution).
Edot: I see the Amazon link has a purchase the entire season for 20 dollars option. I don't know how that works since the season isn't complete but I'm assuming that means you can pay 20 up front.

Just want to say I feel pretty good we will get our first capture after this week's latest episode of In Pursuit. Raymond 'R.J.'McLeod has already been spotted in Belize, while Maurice Nesbitt seems like he would stand out and is likely still in the states. Not to mention we don't know who the 15 seconds of shame fugitives will be yet so one of them could be an easy capture as well.
Also just a note the last John Walsh show, 'The Hunt', had their first capture after week 3 in Charles Mozdir, a San Diego-area fugitive. (He was actually a week 2 fugitive, but his capture came after week 3). Raymond McLeod is a San Diego-area fugitive airing in week 3! I do hope for the safety of everyone involved and for Krystal's family to be able to look McLeod in the eye in court and tell him exactly how they feel if he's convicted, that the arrest of McLeod will be a lot less violent.

Just realized former AMW correspondent Michelle Sigona (who was also with Crime Watch Daily) writes all the articles for the show!
I believe she is also the primary person or one of the people who responds via the show's Facebook page.

Someone on their page just thanked them for unlocking episode 2.

Ok well now that the west coast 10 PM airing is finished, I'll discuss last night's show. Although I'd rather discuss some elements on McLeod and Nesbitt on their respective threads on the forum.
I will say both cases are infuriating with two men who should have been behind bars in the first place, especially with the legal technicalities in regards to Nesbitt and some Georgia laws really need to be rewritten.
Also both men were indeed deadly posers but I would have called the show The Loser Brigade- because that's what they were. You have McLeod who overcompansated for his ugliness by being a muscle-bound freak and Nesbitt who was a crap rapper. (No pun intended).
I did find it weird they mentioned McLeod likely being in Guatemala but didn't mention Belize but perhaps that was intentional.
Also, we knew most of the cases already but Penelope Inks was the missing child mention besides Jeremy Jourdain.
As we already knew, Anibal Mejia and Martin Jarquin-Estrada were the 15 seconds of shamers.
Anyway, both McLeod and Nesbitt are big ugly mother f***ers who would stand out in a crowd and if we don't get a direct capture off one or both of then this week then I don't know when In Pursuit will. Famous last words but in theory this should be the easiest episode so far to get a capture out of.
