So I've been browsing various news sites today and discovered that there was apparently an Olympic silver medalist competing in a UFC event on Saturday. Her name is Sara McMann, and although her name may not sound familiar, she has a history with AMW.
Her brother was Jason McMann, who was murdered in Pennsylvania back in 1999. After a seeming lack of interest from the local police department, Jason's mother wrote to AMW and they sent retired Det. Joe Matthews to investigate the case himself. Through his investigation, he was able to find enough evidence to charge Fabian Smart with Jason McMann's murder and three other men as accomplices.
She said she wanted to be successful to help honor Jason's memory. Check out this article, because she has a really fascinating story.
