I seem to be the only person that misses The Hunt lol. Don't get me wrong, I agree In Pursuit is a better show and makes better use of John Walsh's talents (and of course showcases Callahan), but I eventually got used to the format I initially hated and the main problem with that show was too few episodes a season.
Hopefully In Pursuit's success will lead to more episodes but even 12 with more fugitives is more than what we used to get with The Hunt.

Also sorry one more thing but tvguide.com says after next week's episode (Castillo/Leticia Smith), the February 26th episode will be Kevin Michael Waguespack being the second 15 seconds of shame fugitive from Season 1 to get a full-profile in season 2 and the second half Callahan will investigate the manhunt for cold case fugitive Miguel Angel Martinez, who was on AMW's website but we don't know if he was aired on the show or not.

Just wanted to add I finally saw the episode and that Derek Whisenand was even worse than I thought. Burt was a 78-year-old man with health issues and he allegedly shot him in the head five times. That's just complete overkill and completely unfair to a guy who was so nice to him.
Cal didna good job with his first FBI top 10 case and I thought it was cool they showed Jimenez's photo next to other top ten fugitives. I don't know when they filmed the segment as they still showed Lamont Stephenson with a captured stamp over his face.
Also, not to make light of such a tragic caae but I thought it was funny when JW updated Whisenand being caught that he said "Go Canada" lol.

I love those collages the FBI makes when they have a new addition or for top 10 anniversaries, They likely obtained footage from the press conference when they added him to the List, or filming began around that time IMO.

So the episode was very good. Considering the two cases were kind of complicated, I'd say it was the best-produced episode this season. Not necessarily the best episode (which is not an insult, all the episodes have been good), but the best at figuring out how to wove and piece together things.
One thing though- this isn't In Pursuit's fault but I was shocked at how blurry the border video was of Castillo and Ahmia Feaster crossing the border into Mexico was. For the sake of the fact many violent criminals flee from the states amd vice.versa, I really hope they enhance or have enhanced their surveillance system since 2016.
15 seconds of shame was Erik Addison and Carlos Arias (we had the right case from the tip form after all). Missing childeen segments were Ameera Dedrick and Lincoln Stevens.
I'll expand more on the manhunt for Alex Castillo and Leticia Smith in their own respective threads.
Also after next week's episode (Kevin "Michael" Waguespack/Miguel Angel Martinez), the March 4th episode will be James Meece and longtime AMW fugitive James Watts.

I'll let the cat out of the bag since other members have figured it out that imdb lists the rest of the episodes scheduled for season 2. To not spoil anything and because sometimes episodes are subject to change, I purposely wait for tvguide.com to spoil the next episode(s), but just as an fyi if anyone wants to jump ahead of me, I just ask that we wait for me to post the cases publicly.

I didn't know it was possible to be even more angry at Judge Needles than I already was but last night's episode made me so pissed off.
The crime itself was so brutal that the Detective basically had to admit he was holding back on how brutal the crime scene was. Catherine Dyer's friend screamed there was a piece of her head missing on the 911 call when he found her. On top of that, Waguespscl called 911 in Houston CONFESSED! Meanwhile his parents in Natchez, Mississippi only admitted he was in their house out of a concern he was going to go out via suicide by cop and hurt himself and/or others in the process. It's bad enough to let an obvious flight risk accused of a brutal crime without an ankle monitor, but this was a suspect who allegedly CONFESSED as well. What the f*** was Judge Needles thinking?
I am glad though the show called out Judge Needles by name. And John Walsh did not mince words, calling Waguespack a son of a b**** in his recap.
The Miguel Angel Martinez segment was good as well, felt a little more matter-of-fact than usual but perhaps it was a language-barrier issue as Estella's mother needed a translator. I didn't realize Estella's son witnessed hee murder which is beyond awful. I'm also glad they finally showed a photo of Miguel's brother although my phone frustratingly won't let me post the screenshot.
Next week's episode is James Meece/James Garland Watts.

Does any one know as to how many episodes this year's season of "IN PURSUIT WITH JOHN WALSH" is going to have? Last year it was 12 episodes.

Just a note guys the preview for the March 11th episode in online tvguides has Nimrod Perez Guerrero and Frederick Alan McCaskill as the fugitives. However, I still can't find anything about McCaskill and the byline simply says "a brutal attack leaves a victim clinging for life". So I won't be able to make a thread about him unless there's an article. Kind of odd we have a case with mystery like this and because of that- unless an article comes out sooner- I'll probably just advertise the next episode is March 11th in the pinned front page preview rather than doing the faces and links to profile thing I usually do.

The good news is that local media stations have done a very good job publicizing upcoming cases the week of their In Pursuit airing this season. Therefore, I think there's a good chance that we will get an article on Frederick Alan McCaskill the week of March 9th.

True, also if we ever do In Pursuit trivia, tonight will be the first ever episode where the main segment fugitives have the same first name (James Meece/James Watts). Hopefully we can capture at least one of the Slippin' Jimmies after tonight.
Stinks we only have a month left but hopefully season 3 comes sooner rather than later!

Sorry if I don't really do as good a recap as usual, feeling a bit under the weather, but hopefully it's not coronavirus. (Joking or half-joking). But basically both segments did what they had to do. James Meece manhunt angered everyone on Twitter so it did its' job. I just hope if they do capture Meece, who is as far as I know only wanted for failure to register as a sex offender, that it's not a repeat of Arthur Crabtree on The Hunt, who got like only 214 days in jail and allowed to live in Mexico after that. Meece is in his 70s now, so any jail time will be hopefully significant, and it's still important for his victim's peace of mind that they know where he is. Not to mention, there could unfortunately be other victims out there.
James Watts profile was admittedly kind of frustrating at first because there seemed to be no motive in the case, but finally they show that Shante's husband, David Lee, who had a clean record for decades, had 20,000 dollars and heroin in the house and this is probably why Watts was asking "where is the money " Shante it seems was a completely innocent victim either unaware or unapproving based on how they describe her. And David Lee apparently hasn't learned his lesson to stay out of trouble still as the show shows a June 2019 mugshot. I don't know what he got thrown in jail for, but he's apparently still there based on PA inmate online search. Just angers me that his alleged lifestyle got his wife killed and he still can't go straight.
I'll talk about pertinent clues on Meece and Watts on their own respective threads.

Changed my mind and decided since it is listed on imdb anyway, I may as well list the cases or 95 percent of the cases for the remaining episodes. All the cases besides McCaskill and Contreras are on our site already if you want to delve further into them, although of course most of us know them already. McCaskill I still have no idea what the case is about besides the aforementioned byline. I know what the Contreras case is but am purposely holding back for a few reasons until that fugitive's case is publicized/previewed officially by ID or other media. (If you figure it out on your own, please do not reply publicly).
Episode 9 (March 11th): Nimrod Perez Guerrero/Frederick Alan McCaskill
Episode 10 (March 18th): Torin & Rena Smith/Carnell Spencer Lee Jr.
Episode 11 (March 25th): Eugene Palmer/Tamera Williams
Episode 12 (April 4th): Fugitive with last name of "Contreras"/Unknown Abby Williams and Liberty German Killer
