Story:
On July 28, 2001 Lorenzo Salinas, Alfredo Salinas and Oscar Sevilla (aka Jose Dominguez) were smoking crack and drinking beer at the Salinas apartment in Mission, TX. Alfred and Sevilla dared each other to steal a car. Armed with a shotgun, they walked to a dark intersection and waited in the grass for their victim. 20-year-old Jerry Morales was driving his 21-month-old daughter, Leslie Ann, to a birthday party. He drove right to the intersection in his 2001 Chevy Malibu where Salinas and Sevilla were hiding. Salinas and Sevilla jumped out of the grass and carjacked Morales and made him drive to a nearby orchard. The men shot Morales in the back of the head and left him in the orchard. Leslie Ann was still strapped in her car seat. The men drove back to the Salinas apartment to pick up Lorenzo. The three men drove the stolen car toward the Mexico border and made a decision to throw Leslie Ann in the weeds near the Rio Grande. On July 29, 2001 Border Patrol agents found Leslie Ann still strapped in her car seat, but she was already dead. Police say she died of dehydration and exposure to the intense Texas heat. The fugitives crossed into Reynosa, Mexico and tried to sell the new car for $1000. Someone tipped off the Reynosa Police and the cops chased the men into a rundown neighborhood. That's when the men abandoned the car and took off on foot. The police lost them in the chase. Several days later, police found Morales' body in the orchard. Alfredo turned himself in and confessed to dumping the baby near the river. But Lorenzo and Sevilla are still on the run.

Thoughts? Salinas and Sevilla were profiled at the very least on the February 16th, 2002 episode of America's Most Wanted. Our forum member pakman likes to comb through the old AMW.com pages on archive.org to see if there's any unsolved cases still leftover from the AMW days we haven't talked about yet. I can't believe I missed this one, as shockingly, as of this posting date (12/17/2019) both Salinas and Sevilla still have warrant flags next to their name in Hidalgo County's online criminal court records!:

I am surprised this case has sort of fallen out of the spotlight considering it is a double homicide involving the death of a 20-month-old girl, but hopefully we can breathe some new life into getting justice for Jerry Morales and Leslie Ann by posting their case on the forum.
