For the first one I easily vote for Seymour Pinckney. I do acknowledge that since I live in Canada, that Kindler being the first AMW fugitive to be caught in Canada was a cool milestone. For the second one I vote for "Tombstone" Fragoso. I'm aware that he got a slap on the wrist by American standards for over 10 murders, however I checked and Mexico doesn't have life imprisonment as a possible sentence for crimes. The maximum typical sentence for a murder conviction in Mexico is only 40 years (although in special cases, it can extend to up to 60 years). channel.nationalgeographic.com/channel/lockdown/articles/inside-a-mexican-prison-facts/

Seymour Pinckney and Pedro Luis Estrada advance. Let Round 2 begin!
Teddy Unterreiner, #57, Jly 9, 1989 A Bay Area, California pedophile. He would volunteer as a student's tutor for SouthEast Asian boys, then molest them. There were at least 20 victims. His arrest warrant was issued in June 1988, but he fled. He was already in jail in Vancouver, Canada, for molesting a 10 year old Asian boy when an AMW tipster led law enforcement to him. He's the earliest fugitive in the capture roster that we know of who was busted serving time in another prison on newer charges.
vs
Kevin Kelly and Kenneth Shannon, #19/#20, Ags 15, 1988 Over a few decades, the Westies gang had operated in NYC. These two were the last two alphas, the two most active racketeers from 1985 to 1988. They were wanted for extortion, loansharking, and murder (1 dead, 1 wounded). After they saw themselves on America's Most Wanted, and once they were sun tanned and well rested, they surrendered to FBI agents in a Manhattan, New York attorney's office.
and
Kirkton Moore and Raylene Brooks, #28/#29, Oct 27/Oct 28, 1988 In September 1988, Kirkton committed a drive-by shooting that wounded 3 people, with Raylene (born in circa 1971) as the getaway driver. A few minutes after the drive-by, he killed a police officer with an assault rifle. Just over a month after the 4 casualties, Kirkton and Raylene surrendered at a TV newsman's station in Hollywood, California. Kirkton was sentenced to 2 life terms with no parole. Raylene got 1/4 century to life, but rumors have been spreading of public desire for them to release Raylene, because she was still under 18 at the time of the shootings, and was not the triggerman.
vs
William and Rebecca Hewlett, #35/#36, Dcb 19, 1988 William was a bank robber and parole violator. After he fled, he graduated into a serial rapist. Both were persons of interest in the murder of a woman last seen with them in Tennessee. For these crimes, William Hewlett was added to the US Marshal's 15 Most Wanted list. They were busted in Mississippi.
My votes will go to Kelly and Shannon because they were suspected in 2 casualties and an extortion plot. And I'll vote for Kirkton and Raylene for the confirmed death of a police officer and somewhat high casualty toll.

Unterrier for the first one because of the uniqueness aspect of already being in jail. Moore and Brooks for the second for same reasons as 912th. P.S. I think this is the first time where 912th didn't delay his vote that I finally voted differently on at least one of the matchups.

Unterreiner since he had nearly two dozen sex crime victims and he was already in prison by the time he was arrested.
Kirkton and Raylene for reasons already stated.

Teddy Unterreiner, Kirkton Moore, and Raylene Brooks win 3 to 1.
After a power outage at my apartment complex yesterday, the next match-up can finally begin!
James Ray Renton, #22, Spt 6, 1988 An Arkansas cop killer on the US Marshals' 15 Most Wanted list. He had escaped from several prisons starting in 1985. During a jailbreak in July 1988, he escaped a maximum security prison. He was busted in Austin, Texas, sleeping at night in a Salvation Army shelter barracks. He's now serving life without parole.
vs
Rudy Blanusa, #39, Jnr 23, 1989 In October 1986, 2 brothers in Modesto, California accused Blanusa of robbing their house. He abducted the brothers and shot them dead. He was busted in Burnaby, Vancouver, Canada, working for a scaffolding company. He was sentenced to 35 years to life.
and
John P Eastlack, #67, Spt 11, 1989 A diagnosed former booze baby. In Tucson, Arizona, he was serving 9 years for fraud. Around the turn of September 1989, he escaped. 3 days later, he murdered an elderly couple. Just over a week after the murders, a tipster busted him in El Paso, Texas. He was sentenced to life in prison. During a jailhouse interview, he said of America's Most Wanted, "It's a damn good show. I mean, it caught me!"
vs
Minh "Tony Playboy" Duytong Nguyen, #93, Jnr 22, 1990 A Vietnamese gang banger who shot up a Houston, Texas sandwich shop. His casualty toll was 2 dead, 3 wounded. He was busted in Michigan.
For the first one, I vote for James Ray Renton, because he killed a cop, escaped from several prisons, landed on the US Marshal's 15 Most Wanted, and got the book thrown at him in the end. The second one is a little harder. Duytong-Nguyen had gang connections and a higher casualty toll. Eastlack also escaped prison, was confirmed to have gotten a life sentence, and even admitted he was impressed with AMW for busting him. I'll flip a coin. If heads, Eastlack. If tails, Duytong. Aaand... tails it is!

James Ray Renton and John P Eastlack advance to Round 3. It's been a while, but the next match can finally begin!
Stanley Faison, #38, Dcb 24, 1988 A Detroit drug conspiracy doorman on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted list. In 1965, he bludgeoned a man to death and stole his car. In June of 1987, he stabbed a fellow drug dealer to death. On Christmas Eve 1988, he was busted in Detroit, Michigan, unarmed underneath a bed.
vs
John "Jack" Darrell Farmer, #12, May 30, 1988 The head of Chicago's "Little Mafia" and one of the FBI's Ten Most Wanted fugitives. He was a person of interest in 2 murders. When he was held on other charges related to the Little Mafia, he bound and gagged his defence attorney and fled an Illinois prison. He was busted in Florida, working in a local food store warehouse.
and
Gregory Scarpa Jr, #21, Ags 29, 1988 The son of a New York City Columbo crime capo. He was charged with kidnapping, drug trafficking, extortion, and worst of all, 2 murders. A notorious organized crime higher-up, though not to the degree of his father. Busted in New Jersey.
vs
James Edward Noel, #97, Fbr 26, 1990 After being charged with raping at least 5 women, he was paroled. In October 1989, he killed a woman in Los Angeles after failing in his attempts to rape her. The victim was an apartment manager whose co-manager eventually became the infamous Hollywood Madam. He was busted in California and is now serving life with no chance of parole. The eventual Hollywood Madam was later given an interview where she talked at length about her late friend.
First, I'll vote for Stanley Faison, for his 2 confirmed murders, including one back in the 60's. Second, even though Scarpa and his father were huge names in the organized crime business, there are a few types of criminals worse than deadly crime bosses, such as sexual deviants who graduate to murder. Besides, the Hollywood Madam's former co-manager was murdered. So I'll vote for James Edward Noel.

Stanley Faison and James Edward Noel advance.
Steven Ray Allen, #62, Ags 12, 1989 In December 1986, he abused and strangled his girlfriend's 3 year old son in Utah. In November 1987, he shot a man to death in a stolen property dispute in California. He was busted in Ravalli County, Idaho, roaming the mountains on a horse, badly malnourished. He got life in prison for the two killings.
vs
Karl "Fabulous" Dunstrom, Steven McMillian, and Kirk Bruce, #4/#5/#6, Apl 9/Apl 15, 1988 In January 1988, these three people burst into an apartment in Landover, Maryland with machine guns, sprayed bullets, and assassinated 5 crack gang members in a drug war dispute. Previously, in late November 1987, Dunstrom had also murdered a 17 year old boy in NYC. Dunstrom was busted in a basement in NYC after a brief struggle on April 9, 1988. On April 15, McMillian and Bruce were busted at McMillian's mother's house.
and
Seymour Pinckney, #79, Oct 22, 1989 For years, he'd beaten and molested his common-law wife's 4 young daughters. In 1978, he killed his common-law wife and the eldest stepdaughter in New Jersey. After 11 years, this prolific child molester turned family destroyer was busted in Mathews Court House, Virginia.
vs
Pedro Luis Estrada, #73, Oct 1, 1989 A former professional boxer on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted list. In 1985, he was involved in drug trafficking and robberies. From May to August 1986, he shot 7 people dead in drug contract hits. He was busted in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, unarmed where his parents were staying.
The Shower Gang and Pedro Luis Estrada may have had astronomical death tolls, and Estrada held a position on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted. However... Steven Ray Allen murdered 2 innocent people, including a toddler, and Seymour Pinckney was a familial child sex assaulter who graduated to multiple murders. So I'll vote for Steven Ray Allen and Seymour Pinckney.
